In 1993, the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence Project receives a transmission detailing an alien DNA structure, along with instructions on how to splice it with human DNA. The result is Sil, a sensual but deadly creature who can change from a beautiful woman to an armour-plated killing machine in the blink of an eye.

Feeling nostalgia for the 90s, so I put on this creature feature classic. In hindsight ... It's still pretty fun! Atrocious CGI almost ruins a solid Giger design. I especially love the tentacles that come out of Sil's nipples. Forest Whitaker plays Dan, an empath with telepathic abilities, which are never explained in the film. It's an old trope I frequently see the Italians use but here it was so ridiculous and silly that I loved it. I think Oz Perkins is the only modern day director who still uses telepaths in his films without explanation (longlegs). Michael Madsen somehow found a way to be charming with that script. I'll miss him
