Of course John Carpenter would make an amazing Hitchcock movie. And I'm sure if you ask him, Carpenter would say he just changed a few letters by showing us a bug instead of a bomb. Carpenter does a great job of letting something sinister creep into a safe, familiar place ... and always in 90 minutes (75 if you cut the credits). The lead's efforts to look behind the curtain and under the couch were so familiar, but then that letter ... Just seeing that letter makes your stomach drop! So good. John Carpenter is the best
