Skyfall è il film in cui 007 smette di essere solo un’icona e diventa un uomo stanco, ferito e messo in discussione. **Dopo un’operazione fallita a Istanbul, Bond viene dato per morto e quando rientra in servizio scopre che l’MI6 è sotto attacco. Il nemico questa volta non è solo esterno: è Silva (Javier Bardem), un ex agente pieno di rancore, carismatico e inquietante come pochi villain della serie. Il film mescola azione di altissimo livello con una malinconia rara per un 007.** La fotografia di Roger Deakins è magnifica (Macao, Shanghai, la Scozia), la colonna sonora di Thomas Newman funziona, e Adele con la title track dà subito il tono giusto. Daniel Craig è al suo meglio: duro, vulnerabile, quasi stanco di essere Bond. Judi Dench come M ha qui il suo capitolo più importante e toccante.

Crazy how the two best James Bond films are like an average Mission Impossible film

“I didn't say I was finished! I'm sick of your silly gimmicks! I'm the best spy in the business; just ask all the critics!” Now THIS is a Bond film. It puts so many other films in the series to shame, including the previous two Craig films. My only problem is that it feels like the true start to this era, yet we only get two more films. I definitely think this is one of the most exciting and rewatchable Bond films, with an incredible and personal villain and an arc for our hero that makes him feel real and believable.  An incredible-looking film to boot. Sam Mendes is an absolute master of his craft, and I’ve loved each of his films that I have seen. Fully Bond and fully original.

After rewatching this I find it very upsetting that I've never thought to rewatch this movie until now. I would give it a ten but I have to sit on it for a little longer. I only criticize the movie for its lack of a good henchmen, yet I also gave that criticism for Casino Royale, and I gave that movie an easy 10
