Un cult assoluto dell'animazione dei primi anni 2000, capace di rivoluzionare il genere grazie alla sua forte carica dissacrante. La sceneggiatura è brillantissima nel decostruire i cliché delle classiche fiabe Disney attraverso dialoghi serrati, battute memorabili e un ritmo che non cala mai. A rendere il tutto memorabile ci pensa l'incredibile alchimia tra l'orco misantropo Shrek e il logorroico Ciuchino, supportata da una colonna sonora epocale che spazia dagli Smash Mouth a Hallelujah. A distanza di oltre vent'anni, l'unico vero limite risiede in un'animazione digitale che mostra inevitabilmente il peso del tempo, specialmente nei modelli dei personaggi umani e nei dettagli degli sfondi. Resta comunque una commedia intramontabile, stratificata e godibilissima a qualsiasi età, un instant classic che si riguarda sempre volentieri.

HOLY WTF WAS I THINKING OF GIVING THIS A 6/10. I still think the second one is better but only by a very little bit. I used to think the movie was dull at times and the misunderstanding stuff was very forced. The first point I disagree with after rewatching the movie, and the second point, while I still agree with, Is really not that big of a deal. Anyway, this movie is pretty great, and you all know why. Great humor, Great use of music, Loveable characters, Nuance message, all the good stuff
