You know the feeling of utmost satisfaction after watching a special film. What an ending. Bloody great Writing - character arcs, past, relationships, personal trauma everything came together so masterfully towards the end. Renate Reinsve yet again in Joachim’s film and she was subtly exceptional. But the standout performer for me was Stellan Skarsgard. His performance was so good that I sensed his regret that he couldn’t be there with their daughters and left them. That sense of being absent for years in his expression is also shown when he meets his old retired cinematographer. Joachim clearly understands how to make his viewers feel that the character couldn’t even make out the passage of time over all these years and deeply regretted not being there for his family and friends. Such a stunning performance by Stellan 🙏 & his dynamic with Renate’s character was pitch perfect. Even the script within a script played a huge part in the reconstruction of the destroyed family dynamics. No wonder that ending felt so perfect.  Joachim’s yet another GEM OF A FILM.
