What a breath of fresh air this in “Horror comedy” genre. It gets everything right and in doing that it also breaks all the genre stereotypes and how. An absolute gem of a movie. Writing, direction, music, characters everything, you name them and they have nailed in every department. Based on a real life incident one would expect horror comedy to go totally eccentric way but writer and director (Jithu Madhavan) has managed to make this as grounded as possible yet there’s a sense of urgency/fear in humour which I found out to be super fascinating and entertaining. Meaning it’s spontaneous and it never comes across as crass or slapstick-y. This could be a lesson in film school on how to make horror comedy without taking any eccentric or crass route and breaking the stereotypes. Masterpiece and this is his directorial debut. Wow.
