While on a ship to Skagway, Alaska, Duke and Chester find a map to a secret gold mine, which had been 'stolen' by thugs. In Alaska to recover her father's map, Sal Van Hoyden falls in with Ace Larson, who secretly wants to steal the gold mine for himself. Duke, Chester, the thugs, Ace and his henchman chase each other all over the countryside—for the map.

Road to… I actually might prefer this to road to Morocco though I could live without the narrator character but it is an interesting commentary on studio meddling and the like. Really solid gags and even further playing with the fourth wall. Also what I think is the definitive theme song for these films, “Put It There, Pal.” Maybe this all just played better because it’s been a little bit longer since I’ve seen it apparently not since 2021 which is like 1000 years ago. I’m not very good at quantifying what makes something “funny” but I know it when I see it. This is it. Just two powerhouse talents firing on all cylinders. Another I must recommend.
