The dog is the hero in this one. It was fun, but gave no further back story to Predator.

Finally. Since Arnold’s predator, this is the best one we have got and Dan Trachtenberg who made one of my favourites “10 cloverfield lane” exactly knew how to crack a predator movie with good enough ingredients. With right emotions, characters that I can care, massively engaging action set pieces throughout without any modern monster films cliches, thanks to the period it’s set in, that gave director to use different or age old factors to fight against predator. Also loved the way how they have clearly showed the killing mentality of a predator. It only hunts a hunter and not the prey. Like when mountain lion is chasing a rabbit, Predator kills the mountain lion and not Rabbit. This made me wonder whether predator would stay peacefully without any threat from people around it. Nice addition to this kinda movie which was unexpected. Overall It was super fun and a really satisfying watch.
Thank God they gave Dan Trachtenberg the keys to the Predator kingdom because this is without a doubt the best film in the franchise. Best Predator design. Best action. Best characters. Best overall look. This is just an incredible film that completely understands everything good and cool about the Predator better than any film before. While the main character and plot are a little “woman moment,” she’s just so damn cool and has a lot of incredible action sequences. Plus, its other themes and ideas are really well done, so I can excuse its sappier moments. I love the ties and connections the film makes between the Native Americans, colonialism, and the Predator.
It had potential to be good. It feels and looks like a complete jigsaw puzzle with pieces put in the wrong place. Naru's perseverance to prove that she's a hunter got them in danger. Her drive is admirable but I don't think there was a moral lesson for her. Naru's like a rebellious teenager who's trying to prove herself at the cost of everything. But still, it's an okay film.
