The Chola kingdom is under threat from forces both internal and external, and with crown prince Aaditha Karikalan, his younger brother Arunmozhi Varman and the emperor, Sundara Cholar separated by situations, it is up to a messenger to ensure the safety of the kingdom. Can he succeed in his mission, especially with Karikalan's former girlfriend, Nandhini, plotting to bring down the entire Chola empire?

This is purely a well written realistic drama with great politics, conspiracy, love, hate, conflicts that goes into making this historical piece. It’s absolutely idiotic if people compare something as real as this to larger than life fantasy Bahubali. Having said that, this could have been a masterpiece for me if Mani also focused on executing action set pieces, especially climax scene is choppy when it comes to Editing. It was more of a distraction than immersing viewers into the scene. Could have easily been a 4/5, if technically it was more solid. Mani gave sumptuous storytelling here and with brilliant realistic action sequences with great editing this could have been a masterpiece. Nonetheless this is a great adventurous start to the PS world and characters were absolutely juicy especially Karthi’s character and lead women. Not a single thing is off when it comes to characters. This is a good set up and I hope Mani improves on some stuffs that I mentioned above in PS1.
