Is it a rom-com? Who knows! Rashida Jones’ performance was OK. Bill Murray’s was just a hair above okay. But idk, the thing I didn’t love about the movie was Bill (a misogynistic dad) is lending his advice and help to Rashida Jones catch her husband in the act. Only to find out there was nothing going on. Whaaa whaaa. I strongly felt the movie would have been a lot better if it ended with her realizing her husband wasn’t cheating on her AND then caught him in the act.

Not the best out of Sofia Coppola, but I still felt it was very valuable. The story feels so personal, it’s impossible not to make assumptions about Sofia's relationship with her own famous father. Coppola is certainly a subscriber to the idea of “write what you know” because she usually writes about things that feel very very close to her own experience. If that’s a good thing or not, I guess it’s up to you. I enjoyed it.
