It seems a lot of people have the wrong idea about this movie based solely on nostalgia for the George Clooney film. A film, admittedly, I have not seen. But I think people, for some reason, expect a 70-year-old movie to match the tone and feel of a film from the bombastic ‘00s.  But as for this movie, it’s essentially a hangout film with the Rat Pack. And if spending two hours with these guys doesn’t sound like a good time, then this movie is probably not for you. The pace is definitely slow, especially in the first half, where we meet all the characters, but that bothers me none.  We chill, we do the heist, and then it gets all tied up with the best bow on any movie ever. An all-time classic.
