In this movie, Mulan doesn’t have to learn, doesn’t have to struggle. The only thing we keep hearing about is how she lies. The lack of struggle is solidified when we don’t see her transform when she is going to war. She doesn’t need to learn much, since she has basically super powers. What about the other characters? Oh, they don’t really do much.  Shang isn’t in this one and the two characters that replace him are way weaker. I'd be fine with the huge focus on Mulan if she had anything interesting going on, but she doesn’t. The film hints at the great songs from the original, which made me remember what I’m missing in this one. The fight scenes have annoying editing. That’s it. That’s what I wanted to say. (I didn’t pay to watch this movie)
