Mr. Bean wins a trip to Cannes where he unwittingly separates a young boy from his father and must help the two reunite. On the way he discovers France, bicycling and true love, among other things.

66/100 Rowan Atkinson makes everything he's in about ten times funnier, and it's even truer here. Mr. Bean's Holiday isn't exactly the best comedy ever, but it made me laugh, so whatever. This is a movie of little substance, bur what little there is is extremely clever, and by clever I mean hilarious. Most of this is carried by the writing: Mr. Bean himself is basically a manchild, innocent yet extremely selfish whenever it benefits him, and it's pretty funny. However, Atkinson's performance makes sure we never take Bean too seriously and always laugh at his misdeeds. Really, however, I found most of the movie's first half not particularly funny. There were some decent enough gags, but for the most part it wasn't all that good. However, the movie gets significantly funnier with some straight men to level Atkinson out. I particularly liked Willem Dafoe as an over-pretentious film…
