I’ve watched this 9 times this month
I used to love playing older 8-Bit Mortal Kombat games when I was a kid, especially those cassette games and the sounds of the fights was its one of the trademarks and nostalgic as I remember. Used to play it without caring much about any characters and just beating an opponent plus those classic “fatalities”. Same way I saw the movie and that in itself is a negative and also positive. Negative - It didn’t care anything about back stories or even building up characters in a better way and Positive - It just focused on the brutality of fights and in that it truly succeeded. Who doesn’t love well choreographed R-rated gory action sequences. Just for the opening and salivating gory climax fight of Sub-zero VS Scorpion, I would give this an extra marks. Bloody enjoyable that was in every sense. I just wish in the sequel they get better editors and script writers. I am not that gamer kid anymore who used to just care about action. So they better focus on the script next time.

This movie is brilliant. It has everything you want in a mortal kombat movie. An insane amount of blood and guts . There's fatality after fatality after fatality. The movie doesn't hold back at all. Cole young is a great addition to an already vast mortal kombat family. Every character had their moments to shine . The story might not be that great but this movie is really fun. Its a joyride. Kano was the highlight of the movie.
