Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. By far my favorite Wed Anderson movie, and in my top 10. I love the film style, costume design, music, steoicness, just everything. This adventure about young love is so great. Will caution though that there is a few scenes where it’s slightly weird, but not a deal breaker.
I like this one better each time I watch it. There’s this aspect about the contrast of the simple love of the main children against the complicated life of adults. I love how Tilda Swinton's character is literally called Social Services
