I read a few articles about the real life Katie. It's awful that she just grew old knowing nothing but sorrow. I heard her quality of life did not improve even after her being taken by DSS and she's abused between foster homes. It was difficult to watch and to my own judgement, I believe that these scenes are even much lighter than what she experienced in her life. Wherever she is right now if she's still alive, I hope that every now and then she received love.
