Ethan Hunt and his team are racing against time to track down a dangerous terrorist named Hendricks, who has gained access to Russian nuclear launch codes and is planning a strike on the United States. An attempt to stop him ends in an explosion causing severe destruction to the Kremlin and the IMF to be implicated in the bombing, forcing the President to disavow them. No longer being aided by the government, Ethan and his team chase Hendricks around the globe, although they might still be too late to stop a disaster.

Dopo un attentato al Cremlino, l’IMF viene sciolta e Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) si ritrova con una squadra ridotta all’osso e senza alcuna copertura ufficiale. Da lì parte una caccia intorno al mondo fatta di inseguimenti, tecnologia che non funziona mai al momento giusto e acrobazie pazzesche. La sequenza sulla Burj Khalifa resta una delle cose più impressionanti mai fatte in un blockbuster: vertiginosa, chiara, fisicamente incredibile. Cruise arrampicato a 800 metri di altezza senza troppi trucchi è puro spettacolo. Il film funziona perché ha ritmo, humor e una regia che sa sempre dove mettere la macchina da presa. *Simon Pegg e Jeremy Renner *danno un contributo importante, Paula Patton tiene bene e lo script riesce a bilanciare azione e personaggi senza risultare confuso. È meno paranoico del primo capitolo e meno cupo di Fallout, ma è forse il più divertente e spettacolare della serie fino a quel momento.

It is impossible until It's done. Very entertaining, although Ethan needs an enemy boss to show his capabilities and make us keep rooting for him. I guess we will never know what will happen if he fails ...

Watching this one again for the hell of it. Everything is just perfect til after the burj khalifa where it does slow down and falls apart a little bit for me. But that ending in the carvana goes absolutely crazy.
Now it's fking Mission: Impossible.
