I really enjoyed this one. Reminded me a lot of blade runner. I enjoy how Spielberg has made an ultra high concept feel ultra mundane in the best way. Tom cruise killing it once again. I’m fully cruise-pilled at this point
81/100 I don't know how to begin this review. I am glad to be introduced into the genre of movies about Tom Cruise being betrayed by the government he works for, and I'm not sure if any of the other ones are going to top this one. First of all, this might be the best combination of director and actor I've seen so far. Spielberg's directing is strong as ever here, perhaps stronger, and you can see him evolving with the technology of the times. There are so many creative and imaginative setpieces, with my favourite being an apartment sequence where a group of mechanical "spyders" being set loose to search for Tom Cruise's character. Cruise himself also does a great job as John Atherton, the cop set up as a murderer. I was invested in the film mostly thanks to his acting. One critique I have is that some of the action scenes, especially the ones in the car factory, are a bit implausible…
