The craftsmanship of the documentary itself isn’t extraordinary, but the content, the man, the who’s who of Hollywood being interviewed are astounding.  This guy was among the most influential group of ruffians who together changed the movie business: Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and more. His works included Apocalypse Now, Dirty Harry, Dillinger, Conan, Red Dawn, and so much more as uncredited writing that elevated the works he touched. John Milius was larger than life and his contributions to film are profound and this movie never stops churning them out.
