I am not the one to tear up that easily, but I will always remember this film because it got me emotional - not once, but twice. Overall such a feel-good/emotional/heartwarming, dialogue driven 2 hours 38 minutes drama that went like a bullet. Stunning performances by Karthi and Arvind swami with beautiful score and cinematography. This film completely depends on the lead actors’ performances and dialogues. It urges audience to feel their connection/emotions and that’s exactly what it achieved. It has a lingering effect in almost every scene, carrying through until the film ends and even after the credits start rolling. Not every film can achieve this lingering effect. It’s always special when this happens. I would have loved if they had released 3 hours cut. Unfortunately they released a version that has 18 minutes cut on Netflix also.

Started watching it at 12 am last night with a friend who had to leave at 6 the same morning for work. She paused it halfway through, weighed the upsides and downsides of keeping it going….and continued the other hour and a half. Needless to say, she shed tears like a baby the whole time.  Just might be my favourite indian film of all time. Another rewatch might be the deciding factor, who knows?
