Third Lokesh Kanakraj and the first Vijay movie I’ve seen, and I loved it. The could’ve been an easy 4 star with a slimmer duration and that archery sequence I’d like to forget about, and maybe even the plot armour and the meta-ness of Vijay preaching on politics, which seeing in 2025 comes across as his first soft launch towards his own political career that he started later. By far my favourite was the other Vijay, was kinda doubtful about him suiting the beats of a villain, but he somehow does that and more. But his concluding moments were disrespectful to his character, could’ve done a way grander exit imo. Thalapathy though, I get the hype, real good dancer, has fun with the script and has a good sense of timing on humour. Beats me how he’s an introvert irl while pulling such loud characters on screen.
