Seymour Krelborn is a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik's, a flower shop in urban Skid Row. He harbors a crush on fellow co-worker, Audrey Fulquard, and is berated by Mr. Mushnik daily. One day, Seymour finds a very mysterious unidentified plant which he calls Audrey II. The plant seems to have a craving for blood and soon begins to sing for its supper.

Watched Alt ending by mistake
Director's Cut. Yeah! This is what makes me a film snob, refusing to watch this unless it was the director's cut. I also watched the scenes that were different in the Theatrical and I gotta say, both were bad. I really don't like musicals, and this was literally just a musical, but in the format of a movie. Also, Audrey has the most annoying voice of all and I'm glad Steve Martin punched her in the eye. I wish he removed her vocal chords too. This movie is only saved by the spectacular performances of John Candy, Bill Murray, and of course, Steve Martin.
100/100 (Director's Cut) What can I even say? Cinema as a whole peaked here, and I will accept no criticisms to the contrary. This is pure, unadulterated peak in my opinion, both entertaining and meaningful. I should probably start with the message, seeing as how, while it's handled well, it's not too heavy. This is a great retelling of the Faust myth, serving as a critique of capitalism and how it can lead into "deals with the devil", and how in the end the only one these deals benefit is the system making them. Here, Seymour is shown a chance at success by Audrey II, at a seemingly small price relatively, but as his success grows, so do the sacrifices required, with him eventually being forced to abandon everything he loves, only to himself be ground up as part of the system.
