finally decided to change my rating after revisiting this movie. more than harrowing and disturbing than the first time. the sheer hopelessness of the characters situation is exasperating but completely riveting as their fate lingers with you after the closing credits roll—that's how horrifying it was. it remains strikingly relevant to the country’s current political climate. in some ways, nothing has changed—history repeats itself, like father, like son. this is hands down my favorite Filipino movie of all time.
The amount of frustration and outrage I get from watching this. Vic Silayan's acting was intimidating. Holy shit, took me a lot of time to process and getting over to this. Pure clusterfuckery and insanity are carved into this film.
