Why did I dig this even after uneven writing and ambiguity doesn’t always make sense? I expected less because Osgood has been a hit and a miss. Writing is still not perfect here too but at least this time Osgood nailed the twisted climax (Not for all but it was something up my alley) which was one of my major negatives in LONGLEGS (“The Monkey” anyways I didn’t like overall). Without spoiling, central theme or allegorically KEEPER reminded me of ALEX GARLAND’s MEN.  I totally dig the folklore and its WHYs and HOWs. Almost a deliciously ambiguous film if Osgood had gone much deeper into it in the first half. He left far too much to process until the ending. Needed more polished ambiguity. Having said that, Osgood knows how to build tension/mystery even if the writing is uneven. He has got the knack of holding my attention with the great freaky visuals and solid technically overall. Finally I could say that I am satisfied with a Osgood’s film compared to other films of his. Yes there are many questions and theories about that ending. But somewhere I feel satisfied that it’s not a nonsense ambiguity. Almost #MyShit certified.
