The chains would be on your mind and on your tongue.” I can’t imagine a more topical film for where America is right now. A story of a man who is revered as a hero and legend only to be revealed to be the greatest proponent of fascism in the history of America.  Except in real life, we don’t even get people we can perceive as heroes. Just thieves of valor and slobbering morons that tell the ignorant what they want to hear.  This one film blatantly depicts the downfall of America and shows the contrast between real life, where evil blossoms, versus being pruned at the root and destroyed.  “But what was really shocking to me, was the complete cynicism of the plan. Each of the groups was simply to be used until its usefulness was exhausted. Hates were to be played against hates. If one group threatened to get too powerful, it would be killed off by another group. And in the end, those poor little people who never knew to what purpose they were lending themselves would be in the same chains, cowed and enslaved.” We let evil flourish here and we should be ashamed.
