While no media that looks at communist Russia nor any other government or military can avoid being critical, this film is incredibly sympathetic to the men of K-19 as people. It is so easy to forget that while certain governments may be enemies and maybe their respective citizens may hate each other, we are all people. We are all human. We must do our best to love one another. Never be so blinded by “patriotism” or “duty” that we cannot help our fellow man.
