A wealthy entrepreneur secretly creates a theme park featuring living dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric DNA. Before opening day, he invites a team of experts and his two eager grandchildren to experience the park and help calm anxious investors. However, the park is anything but amusing as the security systems go off-line and the dinosaurs escape.

This movie will never not rock the fucking house
Could have done with More Jeff Goldblum but otherwise, this movie slaps

Absolutely amazing. John Williams always has the perfect music for movies and this is one of the prime examples. The CGI still looks great even today and it’s just such a great movie

J'ai toujours un peu honte de ne pas apprécier des œuvres populaires et largement aimées. C'est le cas pour "Jurassic Park" : en dépit d'idées excellentes et d'un pitch a priori très original (notamment pour l'époque), le film, dont on devine assez rapidement le dénouement, ne parvient pas vraiment à surprendre. De plus, la durée du film (à peine un peu moins de deux heures !) m'a parue interminable : une heure et demie auraient, je suppose, largement suffi. I always feel somewhat shameful when I fail to enjoy popular, widely acclaimed films. Such is the case with “Jurassic Park”: notwithstanding its superb premise and its highly original pitch (notably by the standards of the time), the film, whose ending can be anticipated with relative ease, never quite succeeds in surprising its audience. In addition, the film’s runtime (just under two hours!) struck me as excessively long: surely an hour and a half would have been more than enough.
99/100 Jurassic Park has been one of my favourite films of all time since I first saw it many years ago. It wasn't my introduction to the franchise, but it's my favourite by far. It's incredible how well the movie holds up even today. Everything about it just works. Spielberg's direction is at its height here, you can really see the work that goes into all the whimsical scenes while still working for more horrifying moments. Just like Jaws, the decision to hold off on the dinosaurs adds atmosphere, building it until they finally arrive, and when they do, it's brilliant. This movie defined the names T-Rex and Velociraptor for many households, and is the main reason I love these animals even today.
