“A badge is scarier than a gun.”

The main cast is awesome, and Kaluuya gives amazingly entrancing speeches, so it really feels revolutionary. I wish they had spent more time with the actual ending than with some of what they spent it with.

This subject is something we might have seen a lot in other films especially the recent one being Steve McQueen’s “Small axe” movie series. Yet this packs a punch with so many layers added to it that explores the cruelty from all the sides. Even black panther. Why they are doing what they are doing and what exactly is making them to create a revolution that encourages others to join in to go against “THE PIGS” who are ruthless and racist. I actually ended up sympathising with the black panthers even if some of their ways of handling the situation was no less than those racist PIGS. It’s all about the intention and end result to create that massive change in the society. Stunning performances by Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith. I also loved the way it’s shot even though now this subject is turning out to be very typical. It’s all about the writing, performances and presentation that breaks it from being the obvious run off the mill stuffs.

i was honestly blown away by the performances. every actor feels completely locked into their role, nothing comes off as stiff or out of place. the direction is tight, and the script deserves way more credit than it gets. it’s dark, intense, and deeply unsettling, especially knowing how rooted it is in real events. it genuinely made me angry and left this heavy pit in my stomach. while i do have mixed feelings about calling it a straight-up biopic, as a dramatized retelling it works incredibly well. and the archival footage at the end is an absolutely essential viewing. it really drives everything home!
