Johnny is such a beautiful film. There is something so quiet and honest about the way Mahendran looks at loneliness, love and people who are just trying to find some kind of peace. And Ilaiyaraaja’s music… man, what a work. It doesn’t feel like background music at all. It feels like the soul of the film. There’s this one thought in the film that stayed with me. In this world, there will always be something that seems better than what we have. But that doesn’t mean we should keep changing our heart every time we see something better.
