So unfortunate that a good Hindi film like this did not work at the box office. I haven’t seen the original. So this was a fresh movie for me and seemed like it was genuinely well made with stunning performances by shahid and Pankaj with the lovely kid. Beautifully directed and written. Loved that it was subdued and real. Even shahid’s performance is neatly linked with the pacing of the movie. Can feel his character. My favourite scene and most probably one of my favourite scenes in a movie this year has to be shahid just throwing his excitement out at a buzzing railway station after knowing that he was selected in top 15 of Ranji team. What a performance this was and it’s just absolutely sad it was unnoticed totally. Post pandemic it seems like such movies will rarely become a success at BO sadly unless it’s a larger than life action film or big event film. Nonetheless I Will remember this for being a great movie and Shahid’s one of the finest performances yet again.
