Time for a re-watch after many years How can anything match the original, I’d like to think this comes close but fails as we know what to expect.  I really like that  Brody is still sheriff but with obvious PTSD following on from the trauma he suffers in the first movie. He appears to be paranoid to everyone else but  we all know he is right. The finale isn’t as exciting as the first movie but still has some gravitas. I feel the only let downs are 1) the  lack of support characters, even though he reaches out to Hooper only to find him uncontactable.  2) the fact that nothing will surprise us about the big bad.  That element of surprise has gone and can imagine the shock of seeing Jaws at the movies in 75 would, viewers would not be expecting how it was to go down.  Still a hearty effort and worth a watch.
