Itacoatiaras

In Itacoatiaras, two distant places, one in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, and the other in Amazonas, share a name and a history rooted in Indigenous lands. As both face the erasure of their ancestral identity through development and environmental destruction, the film explores memory, territory, and the climate crisis through the voices of Indigenous leaders, activists, environmentalists, and researchers.
