Finding himself in a new era, and approaching retirement, Indy wrestles with fitting into a world that seems to have outgrown him. But as the tentacles of an all-too-familiar evil return in the form of an old rival, Indy must don his hat and pick up his whip once more to make sure an ancient and powerful artifact doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

I wonder if the Indiana Jones theme starts playing if Indy gets a colonoscopy
In the latest installment of the Indiana Jones series, titled "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," the filmmakers did a decent job recreating a younger version of Indiana. While some scenes employed CGI, they didn't detract from the overall experience. However, there were a few instances where the use of CGI was noticeable, such as the opening sequence where Indiana hops on top of a train and runs across. Nonetheless, these instances didn't significantly impact the film. Apart from the original score, which remained noteworthy, nothing else particularly stood out to me in terms of cinematography or sound design. One aspect that puzzled me was Helena's motivation for being involved solely for the money. Was it purely for the thrill, or did she have unpaid debts? Additionally, I may have missed something when the movie mentioned her fiancé in Morocco. On a related note, it was disheartening to witness the disintegration of Indiana and Marion's marriage after the death of their son. Although this does provide closure regarding Shia LaBeouf's character, it felt odd not seeing any photos of him, especially when we do see photos of Marion. Moreover, while Marion eventually returns to Indiana after his adventures, the film doesn't clearly explain what it means for him to be "back" and emotionally available for his wife.

I liked this movie better when it was called Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning. Not everything works but the stuff that does really works. The making of this movie was an impossible task and while this isn’t the best version of this movie what we got isn’t bad. I just fear that the idea of Indiana jones is just as much out of its own time as the character in this movie. There are great thematic elements and the ending is fantastic even if it does retread over the previous film. It’s not the years honey, it’s the mileage.
56/100 The most I can say for this is that it's not bad. At least the previous movie had some of the charm I associate with the early twenty-first century and was fun throughout, rather than being almost as charmless as it is boring like this movie. I guess I should start with something I like to show I don't hate this thing. The opening is actually pretty good for what it's worth, and serves as a fun little action scene. The de-aging effects also are surprisingly good here and Harrison Ford's still got it as the rogueish archaeologist. I was surprised by the fact that the characters themselves are handled very well in this movie. I mentioned that Harrison Ford is as good as ever, in both emotional scenes as well as action. I also liked Phoebe Waller-Bridge as a fun sidekick for Indy to bounce off of with her more morally neutral personality. Mads Mikkelsen is of course great, and I…
