Five young men dream of success as they drift lazily through life in a small Italian village. Fausto, the group's leader, is a womanizer; Riccardo craves fame; Alberto is a hopeless dreamer; Moraldo fantasizes about life in the city; and Leopoldo is an aspiring playwright. As Fausto chases a string of women, to the horror of his pregnant wife, the other four blunder their way from one uneventful experience to the next.

Being my third Fellini film after Nights Of Cabiria [My favorite work of his yet] & La Strada; both featuring his real life wife Giulietta Masina in the lead, this one really made me cringe out to be absolutely honest. If this was shown to me without knowing who the director was, I'd have gone through a thousand names before even thinking of Fellini being the one. Regressive as hell, like I genuinely don't understand how people here are writing rave 4/5 star reviews calling it "nostalgic" "magical" and "dream-like"
