This is why I love horror genre. It can explore stuffs that reflects the real life trauma that refugees face in a foreign country with a flawed immigration system. Only horror genre has got the power to do the unthinkable with the real life issues adding a ghost story that translates their trauma into a haunting and emotional story of facing their trauma and hoping to start a new life in a different country. Although this formula in horror genre is slowly becoming more and more familiar. Yes, movie was impactful and yes, horror genre took the opportunity to showcase the story much more than the usual way but somewhere the “Familiarity” in the film is what made me not to love it immensely. Wanted it to be more twisted and something more fresh. Nonetheless Still a very good horror film and very beautifully acted with some great scares. BGM, sound editing all are top notch. For a debut film, it’s seriously a good start - Remi Weekes
