Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 22017

A lot of people really love this one, and I can definitely see why. This is one of the more emotional Marvel movies out there. I really appreciate the movie dealing with some real emotional weight to it and dealing with a lot of emotional messages. I love how each character grows in their own way, and I really like how the movie's villain is peter's dad showing the harsh reality that family members can be awful sometimes. I adore the cinematography and soundtrack, especially when in comparison to the other MCU movies, and I still generally find the jokes to be funny. I do think that this movie is a lot weaker than the first for a couple of reasons. I don't know if this is just me but I thought the pacing was not great. The middle of the movie kind of lacks tension, so it ends up making the movie drag on for some time. I also think the movie loses some of the simple charms of the first. Too much shit is thrown into this movie, and one of my favorite elements of the first movie was how simplistic it felt. This kind of feels all over the place sometimes. While I don't love it like some people do, I still found this to be a pretty enjoyable watch.
