Great Housewarming Time

This film focuses on the urban planning reform in the USSR; the early 1960s saw the emergence of Khrushchevki, allowing Soviet citizens—who had spent decades living in communal apartments—to finally obtain separate homes. Today, for many of us living in buildings that are already half a century old, the construction process of that era—characterized by rapid building methods—remains significant. The urban planning reform of the 1960s left a legacy that encompasses not only the so-called Khrushchevki but also the very infrastructure systems of our cities and residential neighborhoods.
