In 2047, a group of astronauts are sent to investigate and salvage the starship Event Horizon which disappeared mysteriously seven years before on its maiden voyage. However, it soon becomes evident that something sinister resides in its corridors.

Probably the best space horror since… I don’t know, one of the scarier Doctor Who episodes? It reminds me a lot of the 70s Black Hole movie though, definitely better. Or at least better paced. I love the designs of the spaceships and everything. Very Alien-coded. I love the grungy, lived-in aesthetic of y2k sci-fi and this one with a little Hellraiser thrown in. Fantastic cast, and you can’t have a good space sci-fi without a good crew. The movie gets dark, and I enjoy that it doesn’t explain all the horror beyond “it’s hell.” And of course, a “did they really escape?” ending.
