it was anne who was romantically linked to a local curate, not emily. i don't understand why modern people cannot accept the reality that not all women are horny and had a sex life (especially back in the day) in order to become a writer, sometimes being repressed with very limited choices can drive a person's imagination. i hate how they made the screen version or emily bronte into a generic and lackluster character in order to appease and make her appealing to those women who are probably trying to find affirmation for their lustful and indecent actions, thinking that if a famous writer like emily acted a certain way like them that it would make their sexual behavior valid. emily bronte is unique and different because of her shyness and unsociable behaviour, and then they made her like this. i thought frances o'connor would have the balls to pull a terence davies here, but i was wrong.
