I checked all the hatred towards this after being nominated for 13 categories at oscars and I was super curious to know why.  Can’t believe I really liked it. Message came out powerfully because of musicals. I liked almost all sung through musicals. They were engaging and also impactful throughout. Story was also interesting. Where it falters was the generic action genre trait in the end that was saved by the way it was shot. Technically this is actually solid from cinematography to musicals and the way some of the shots were framed throughout was brilliant. Performances by Sofia especially was the best/natural, then Zoe was nice and Salena was also decently likeable if not of Sofia’s level.  Not at all weakest film to be nominated for me. Conclave’s unnecessary woke shit ending is what makes it weakest so far in the best picture nominations list for me. Emilia Perez is the real woke film TBH. Message is powerful even with flaws. PS : I will read all negative reviews to know why it is getting all the hate. Musicals, I know many hate but sung through musicals have been successful in the past when it’s well done. So that may not be the reason? I am confused now but I really liked it.
