Drones

Rachel is a pregnant and desensitised drone operator in a near-future war where killing has become a mundane daily routine, much like a corporate job. She thrives in this bleak environment. But when she feels the life growing inside her kick her for the first time, and an aggressive colleague undermines her, a gesture of compassion in her surveillance feed breaks through her emotional numbness. The layers of desensitisation that her screens have created crumble, forcing her to confront what she has become.
