布穀鳥真是鳥界壞蛋 氣氛不錯，雖然仍無法擺脫謎底揭曉後的空虛感

Fairly enjoyable, despite the writing being not too crisp and ambiguity is not as delicious as I wanted it to be. When a director is intentionally trying to leave something for an audience, it should be something substantial and should blow our minds. But problem with this is that while it captures the unique horror/Sci-Fi concept well, it gets lost in the chaotic execution of supernatural elements and overall lacklustre ambiguity of the narrative. Because whatever message or the way I interpreted it is seriously nothing extraordinary. I usually call such films as “Deliciously ambiguous” when execution is mind-bending but when it comes to that it’s kinda disappointing because that’s exactly what director intended to do and I couldn’t get that thrill. Still kinda enjoyable because of intriguing concept.  Had #MyShit potential but couldn’t get #MyShit certification.

I appreciate getting a new mad scientist movie.  Hunter Schaeffer and Dan Stevens give great performances.  Schaeffer effortlessly pulls off an angsty teen, which should come as no surprise to Euphoria fans.  Stevens has fun playing with German mad scientist stereotypes. Ultimately, though, that’s the best of what you’ll get.  This movie was all over the place.  And what’s with this older woman nabbing kids and taking them to Paris?
