Coogan, an Arizona deputy sheriff goes to New York to pick up a prisoner. While escorting the prisoner to the airport, he escapes and Coogan heads into the city to recapture him.

Clint Eastwood shines as the fish out of water Arizona Deputy Sheriff sent to return with a prisoner, only for the prisoner to escape. This leads Eastwood on a trip through unknown territory to recapture his man. Full of principle and lone wolf-ness he grates against the NYPD. An enjoyable romp and although not too disimilar to his "man with no name" sense of morality. Personally i could see the beginnings of his Dirty Harry persona starting to emerge in this one.
