Some real batshit crazy thing going on here, but I think the reviews are a tad overblown when it comes to the gore. Don't be put off with this movie just because some random person wrote that it's bloody disgusting. The gory scenes are all right and were not injected just to create some hysteria. This was based (or inspired) from a real life story, so more or less, there's a certain validity to those heinous crimes. At the same time, since this is not a documentary, parts of it were just certainly fictionalized version of the facts. This is my first Sion Sono film and I'm telling you that before I watch this I was definitely scared swimming there because of the reviews, but everything went out smoothly and it was a pleasure seeing insanity on the screen. I may sound a bit partial, especially with the rating, but that's because I have a soft spot for psychological thrillers. Cold Fish is intense, weird and uncompromising. I love it! Now give me more Sono.
