Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

Have some very complicated feelings about this movie. I like it a lot actually, I think it has some of the most mature and realistic topics tackled in a Marvel movie and there are genuine surprises and twists throughout the movie which is something that I, unfortunately, don't see enough of in Marvel movies. Overall I like how this went in a different direction than most other Marvel movies. There are also just a lot of straight-up awesome moments that I love in Marvel movies. That whole airport scene made me very excited and I definitely give the movie points for it. I think though altogether it doesn't quite nail everything. I think the villain with that Russian guy is incredibly superfluous like this movie was so close to doing everything differently, but they had to shove in a villan to meet the needs of the MCU formula. Parts of this movie are also dull and I do think they could have spent some more time fleshing out the conflict between Cap and Tony instead of focusing on the villain because sometimes the motivations feel a little underdeveloped. But overall I really enjoyed it
