Sam Bowden is a small-town corporate attorney. Max Cady is a tattooed, cigar-smoking, Bible-quoting, psychotic rapist. What do they have in common? 14 years ago, Sam was a public defender assigned to Max Cady's rape trial, and he made a serious error: he hid a document from his illiterate client that could have gotten him acquitted. Now, the cagey Cady has been released, and he intends to teach Sam Bowden and his family a thing or two about loss.

Scorses-a-thon I think Scorsese is too much of a classic movie fan to really do a remake. This feels very similar to the original but with more, I don’t know if I’d say depth per se but maybe just edgier? It’s not bad but I don’t know if it justifies its existence. Or at least if you need to watch both. Just pick one and you’ll get the picture. The editing is wild and probably the most interesting part of the movie. So many crazy effects and camera movement. I was just hoping I would like it more than the original. But I feel about the same. And while a decent flick I just don’t think I’ll watch either again. At least not for a long time.
