i wish i knew how to quit you. how do you come back from a film like brokeback mountain? seriously. ennis and jack didn’t just break my heart, they dragged it through the dirt, kissed it, then shattered it again. heath ledger as ennis… my god. all that quiet, choked-up emotion. the way he held everything in, even when it was killing him. and jake gyllenhaal as jack was this soft, glowing ache, full of hope and hurt and wanting more. the last 30 minutes? pure devastation. i cried so hard. so fucking hard. i couldn’t stop. it felt like grieving something real. heath and jake didn’t just act, they became those men. i love them so, so, so much. i don’t think i’ll ever recover from this one.
