The sound editing was so fucking bad, oh my god
Except the way it’s shot, Ana’s complex performance and nicely staged scenes here and there, this was unbelievably unwatchable most of the times. Not because of how disturbing her life is portrayed but because of sheer inconsistencies in terms of execution and to me it all seemed too repetitive after 40 minutes. This character needed Charlie Kaufman’s deliciously complex touch rather making it seem too obvious and too repetitive. By the end of it I was like “I understand what she’s going through. Just stop it now”. Sigh.
