Four years after defeating The Grabber, Finney Blake is struggling with life after captivity. When his younger sister Gwen begins receiving calls in her dreams from the Black Phone and seeing disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp, the siblings become determined to solve the mystery and confront a killer who has grown more powerful in death and more significant to them than either could imagine.

Early in the movie the “most mysterious song on the internet” played on a tv and I activated like the Manchurian candidate. I remember liking the first movie but can’t recall much beyond that. But as far as I can recall this movie outshines it in every way. It feels so unique not just in its story but in its visual language. The way it uses low quality film footage to depict the dream world was so authentic it made me wish we could have a whole movie with that look. And while some lines may be eye rollingly cliche, the overall plot is a pretty clever and enjoyable combination of the slasher and supernatural genres.
Gdyby wykorzystał swój pełen potencjał, dostalibyśmy absolute cinema dla fanów slasherowych klasyków, ale przez to jak marnuje swoje (oraz zerżnięte) pomysły, jest "tylko" bardzo dobrze. Aż naszła mnie ochota na jakiś chamski-horrorowy tasiemiec, odpalony na dojechanej płycie DVD z wypożyczalni.
