Richard Martin buys a gift, a new NDR-114 robot. The product is named Andrew by the youngest of the family's children. "Bicentennial Man" follows the life and times of Andrew, a robot purchased as a household appliance programmed to perform menial tasks. As Andrew begins to experience emotions and creative thought, the Martin family soon discovers they don't have an ordinary robot.

跨越時間算是頗有深度，和預期中不一樣 但劇情還是有點拖得太長 （原以為會是什麼機器人長出意識的驚悚片XD）

Many times I have felt like I have to prove my humanity instead of it being inherent due to my existence. I think the mere desire for humanity (or lack thereof) is the very thing that makes one human. Humanity is as evil, cruel, and corrupt as it is beautiful, kind, and good. Bicentennial Man is a very sweet film. Perhaps too sweet for most people’s palates, but I am a pretty sensitive person, and I’m always charmed by movies like this. And of course, Robin Williams could squeeze humanity out of a stone.
